Gackos are small, slobbery lizards with bright purple scales and long slimy tongues. They lurk among swampier areas, but also tend to enjoy biomes with caves and dense foliage. Gacko live in large underground burrows either in small groups or alone. They spend most of their time scampering about the outside world in search of bugs, their primary food source.
Gackos possess a special venom sac that secretes a thick, gooey slime. They can spit their poisonous puke with pinpoint accuracy, nailing targets from as far away as 50 feet! They either use it to mark their territories or spray it at predators in self-defense. Despite these rather unappealing features, Gackos are surprisingly easy to tame and make great pets. They require a lot of maintenance, but many owners have gone on the record to say that they are very happy with their decisions to adopt the little lizards into their families.
